Firtst of all, the name Tuaran is believed to be derived from the Malay language, “Tawaran”. Its meaning to bargain, as it is fact that trading activities had been taking place within Tuaran area before the British Colonization commenced in 1884. Sabandar Beach is one of the beautiful beaches located in the Tuaran district which is approximately 40 km or about 45 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu City, Sabah. This beach is one of the beaches that is indeed the choice of local people, especially those who live around the Tuaran district to come and have fun with family or friends during school holidays or weekends. This beach is also one of the choices for tourists from both inside and outside the country who come here because this beach is located in the Sabandar Cowboy Town area which is one of the tourist spots located in Tuaran district. So the tourists can visit the cowboy town then can continue to this beautiful beach.
